Description
Located right out my window, kitty corner from my apartment, the Forsyth-Walton Building is an overlooked 2-story Art Deco commercial building in Downtown Atlanta, Georgia.
Last week it got a new paint job! It used to be pink on the bottom, not green. Anyway, they did not a bad job painting it actually, so when I went out on a photo walk yesterday I decided to capture it.
This building was endangered a few years back when the Federal Court of Appeals across the street (itself a historic Beaux Arts building) wanted to tear it and its neighbors down so it could build expanded offices. The city's historic commission convinced the federal government to leave the block alone and rather than tear down, to buy and rehab the block of 10-story, less architecturally unique brick office buildings behind the courthouse.
